Detailed Itinerary

01 DAY 01: ARRIVAL IN PUERTO MALDONADO
Today we arrive in Puerto Maldonado. From there, we will travel by private vehicle to Filadelfia Port, a journey that takes approximately one and a half hours. Upon arrival, we will board our boat, which will take us to our lodge. In the afternoon, we will settle in and enjoy a guided walk along the lodge’s well-designed trails, where we can observe nature in its fullest expression.
02 DAY 02: TAMBOPATA FULL DAY
AMAZON WILDLIFE EXPERIENCE – TAMBOPATA FULL DAY The Tambopata Reserve is part of the Amazon rainforest, where we will begin our activities early in the morning. After breakfast, we will head to the famous parrot clay lick known as Chunchu. This journey takes approximately two hours by boat, and along the way, there is a high chance of spotting wildlife such as capybaras, black caimans, and—with some luck—the elusive jaguar, as one of its favorite prey species inhabits the riverbanks. At the clay lick, we will witness an impressive display of colors as macaws and parrots gather and descend to feed on the mineral-rich clay. This is a unique experience, as this remarkable behavior is especially well known in southern Peru among Amazonian parrots and macaws. After this unforgettable spectacle, we will return to our lodge. Following lunch, we will prepare for our next activity in the Amazon rainforest.
03 DAY 03: AMAZON TO ANDES TRANSFER – FLIGHT TO CUSCO
According to our flight schedule, we will depart from our lodge at a convenient time aboard a motorized boat. We will then transfer to the airport to board our flight to our next destination: the city of Cusco. Upon arrival in Cusco, we will head to our hotel, where we will spend the night.
04 DAY 04: EXPLORING CUSCO – INCA TEMPLES & ARCHAEOLOGICAL SITES
Reception and transfer from the airport to the selected hotel. Welcome coca tea upon arrival.
  • City tour: This is one of the main tourist circuits in the city of Cusco, including visits to the following sites:
  • Koricancha (Temple of the Sun): The most impressive example of the fusion between Inca and Spanish cultures.
  • Sacsayhuaman: A religious and enigmatic site, remarkable for its massive carved stones, some reaching up to 9 meters (30 feet) in height and weighing more than 350 tons.
  • Qenqo: A ceremonial religious center, notable for its underground labyrinth. The word “Qenqo” in Quechua (the language of the Incas) means “labyrinth.” Outside, there is a semicircular amphitheater with trapezoidal niches and a monolith shaped like a puma, approximately six meters in size.
  • Puka Pukara: Meaning “Red Fortress,” named after the reddish color of its limestone stones, rich in iron. It is believed to have served as a control point protecting Tambomachay and also functioned as a “tambo,” or lodging place.
  • Tambomachay: An archaeological site dedicated to the worship of water, featuring finely carved stone walls and a series of water channels and fountains.
START TIME: 13:00 hrs DURATION: Approximately 5 hours
05 DAY 05: SACRED VALLEY TOUR – CHINCHERO, MARAS, MORAY & OLLANTAYTAMBO
Today we will head to the archaeological site of Chinchero, also known for its traditional textile center, where local people still use ancestral techniques to dye natural sheep and alpaca wool. They then create beautiful designs in their textiles, used in a variety of garments. Chinchero also allows us to appreciate the impact of the Spanish conquest through its colonial church, built on top of Inca foundations as a sign of domination. Here, we will visit the temple and observe its pictorial ornamentation, which coexists in a unique syncretism with Inca culture. We will then continue to the Inca agricultural experimentation center of Moray, where we will gain a deeper understanding of why this civilization was far ahead of its time. Afterward, we will travel to Ollantaytambo, where we will explore its impressive megalithic constructions. This town is considered a living Inca city, and it is here where we will spend the night.
06 DAY 06: SHORT INCA TRAIL – TRAIN TO KM 104 & HIKE TO AGUAS CALIENTES
Today, according to the assigned train schedule, we will begin our journey by train to Km 104, the starting point of the Inca Trail. From here, we will follow this ancient and mysterious path, which will first lead us to the impressive Inca site of Wiñay Wayna. From this point, the trail continues toward the famous Sun Gate (Inti Punku), where we will enjoy our first breathtaking panoramic view of the Machu Picchu citadel. We will then descend toward the site itself, entering from the upper section, where we will have the opportunity to take the classic and iconic photographs of Machu Picchu. After this unforgettable experience, we will head down to the town of Aguas Calientes to rest and prepare for the next day, when we will complete our visit to the Machu Picchu archaeological complex, one of the New Seven Wonders of the World.
07 DAY 07: MACHU PICCHU GUIDED TOUR – RETURN TO CUSCO
After breakfast at our hotel, we will begin our ascent to the Machu Picchu citadel at the time previously arranged with our guide. We will head to the local bus station and take a 30-minute ride up to the Machu Picchu Sanctuary, also known as the Llaqta of Machu Picchu. Upon arrival, we will pass through the control point, register, and enter the archaeological complex to begin a guided tour through its most महत्वपूर्ण sectors. Here, we will witness how the Inca civilization challenged nature through remarkable architectural development and creative engineering, worthy of a great ancient city. At the end of the visit, we will descend by bus to Aguas Calientes to enjoy lunch. In the afternoon, we will board the train back to Ollantaytambo, where our private vehicle will be waiting to transfer us back to the city of Cusco.
08 DAY 08: RAINBOW MOUNTAIN (VINICUNCA) – FULL DAY HIKE
The Rainbow Mountain tour in Cusco is an unforgettable experience. We will begin early in the morning, the perfect time to start our journey. We will travel by vehicle for approximately two hours դեպի the south until we reach the district of Cusipata, in the province of Quispicanchi, where we will enjoy breakfast. After breakfast, we will continue to the first checkpoint at the local communities of Tintinco and Paucarpata, and then proceed to the second control point in the community of Chillihuani. From there, we will begin a hike of approximately two hours toward Vinicunca Mountain. Upon reaching the summit, you will enjoy an incredible view of a natural spectrum of colors ranging from green to red, giving it the name “Rainbow Mountain.” This stunning destination is located at 5,380 meters above sea level. After this journey through the highlands of the Cusco region, we will return to the city of Cusco, arriving at approximately 5:00 p.m.
